Information needed for Payment Gateway Solution.?

My friend is based in Taiwan, planning to run an overseas tea trade business exporting tea from Taiwan to U.K. and also domestically in China.

They will take online orders from U.K. parties and China parties, who will book order on internet and will make payment through credit card.

My friend is already having a Merchant Account with HSBC–Hong Kong and is now to identify a Payment Gateway Company located in Hong Kong, that are extending the same support as Protx. My friend also prefers that the H.K.Gateway services will be preferably able to handle EUR & CNY dollar transaction.

Now, information needed in specific is, that which Payment Gateway service in Hong Kong will be compatible with the HSBC Merchant account for accepting Credit/Debit card payment processing for U.K. Customers also?
Advice and guidance will be appreciated.

Who will pay the import customs duty for the Tea in UK ?

The buying party will buy from you because not that you ship directly but he saves on the duty and other taxes.

How would you like your friend to be sued and fined by the Royal customs department for thousands of dollars ??? They could even put it under illegal entry of products even smuggling products in the UK.

Till the order is few hundred dollars no one will give a heed to it. But if the business rises he would be in deep trouble. All that he earned would go into the govt. coffers as penalty or this guy in jail.

So payment gateway and all is SECONDARY. First you need to fulfill legal formalities in the UK before you start the business and mind you getting permissions in UK would mean opening the door to the entire EU so stringent norms so be careful.
