No setup, reprogramming or application fees.

That is an excellent offer and should be difficult to beat. However, make sure they aren’t “making it up” somewhere else. Ask them what their mid-qualified and non-qualified fees are. These are fees you have to pay for special credit cards and for other special transactions. These happen with regularity and if their fees are high for these it would balance out the rates they have quoted you for your regular transactions.

Good additional questions as to ask are “How much will I pay for rewards cards?” and “How much willI I pay for corporate cards?”.

Spice-Electronics BUYER BEWARE!!!! SCAM AT WORK!!?

From my most current expierence with this company, tried to purchase something from them last month for my hubby. Once I told him he did some more research on the company and came across this message board on yahoo answers. He got a bad feeling and we IMMEDIATELY cancelled the card we used. A day later I tried to log into the web site and my whole account on the website was gone! If that doesn’t scream scam I don’t know what will. Now they’ve uped and vanished. Thank God nothing was charged to the account because we caught it on time. It was too good to be true. They never attempted to contact for resubmittance like other companies would do, and nothing was ever shipped even though they gave me a so called “recipt” and customer number. Could not reach them or e-mail after I cancelled the card. Go only with reputable companies who actually have ratings, merchant reviews, and customer feedback. Use like: mysimon.com, ubid.com, dealcatcher.com, nextag.com, & amazon.com to find deals. =)

Thank goodness you guys did further research and acted quickly.

What are volume caps in a merchant account?

Here’s what I was able to research myself, a volume cap is the maximum amount of tax-exempt private bonds that maybe issued during a calendar year. Most merchant accounts don’t limit the amount of processing.

Why do retailers have rules that counter act credit card companies rules?

why do companies ask for id’s , why do some stores charge surchages on credit and debit purchases and minimum and maximum purchase amounts

some credit card merchant account rules say that you cant do these things no matter and they state that all companies and governments must listen to there merchant rules,
my thing why even accept them if you cant follow their rules

like the surcharges companies charge to consumers so they dont have to pay the fee, if they couldnt afford the fee they shouldnt accept credit cards
just like people dont buy what you cant afford businesses should do the same, do accept what you cant afford

Asking for an id protects you. In this day and age of identity theft I do not understand why anyone gets upset when the store is only trying to keep someone from STEALING from you.

As for the rest it is because credit card processing is hugely expensive and getting worse all the time. We have had ZERO chargebacks in over 3 years yet my rates are going up, again!

Made pharmacy purchase company, processed by Purchase Merchants Financial in Utah, but no product 2 months. Got 3 responses from referral company with excuses & promises. Any way to ID seller from transaction number my account shows?

Contact your credit card’s issuing bank and inform them that you have purchased items that have not been delivered over 90 days ago and that, even after you have made every effort to fix the problem with the merchant (the pharmacy company) they have refused to help. Your bank can “charge back” the funds to the people who took your money and remove the charges from your account.

Are e-commerce owners responsible for fraudulent orders placed on their online store. For instance, if a real cardholders files a charge back, is the business owner out of that money?

Unfortunately, yes — online merchants are out of luck when fraudulent transactions are made on their website. You would think that online merchants are the victims here as well, but that’s how it goes.

If you are selling online and there is a fraudulent transaction, you:

- are out of the item if you have already sent the item to the scammer
- credit company takes out of your bank account the cost of the item; the money of which will be returned to the credit card holder
- worse, you get slapped with a chargeback fee which is typically around $20

And the really bad thing is that if you have a lot of chargebacks, you can even lose your merchant account.

So yes, the business owner is out of money. So as an online merchant you need to be EXTREMELY VIGILANT in terms of watching for fraudulent transactions. To help you sniff out fraudulent transactions:

- use software that could alert you of fraud such as Verisign
- make sure everything matches in the card: the address, zip code, telephone area code, IP address
- be on the lookout for huge transactions that want to be delivered to a PO Box
- or huge transactions that want to be shipped immediately

invoice for paypal fees?

Has anybody recieved a monthly reciept from paypal? I have a pro merchant account and my paypal fees amount to £100′s each month, but I am not entering this expense in my accounts as I have never recieved a monthly invoice from Paypal. How many other people are in the same boat and paying tax on earnings that they have not made?

Paypal will probably not offer you a monthly invoice on paper. You can see their fees on the website.

Has anyone in the UK tried using their Maestro card in the U.S. as a MasterCard?

I know how Maestro Card and MasterCard work but the U.S. has an odd set up.

In the U.S. Debit cards with a MasterCard and Visa symbol can be used at least two way. A pin transaction and a signature transaction. Both methods come out of a chequing account.

Since a lot of Merchants in the U.S. don’t take the Maestro card. I was wanting to know if a Maestro debit card would work at merchants that takes just Mastercard and you would sign for your purchase. The U.S. does not have chip & pin.

Yeah my exbf did when he came to America from England and it worked just fine – on the tellers (cash points) here it has Maestro card picture on it and all the other cards it takes. Not sure what you mean about not having pin we use our cards with a pin number all the time. Unless you mean for Maestro but that’s because we don’t have Maestro but our MasterCards do have pin to buy something. hope that helps! xxx

How to set up a merchant account to accept credit cards without a personal guarantor?

All of our buisness’ equiptment and vehicles have been financed without personal guarantor. We would like to accept credit cards for our services, but will not put our personal numbers on the contract.

Some merchant account providers will allow you to use alternative forms of guarantees in place of a personal guarantee. These options include:

1) A corporate resolution – your business provides documents (balance sheets, third party prepared financial statements) that shows the business is strong enough to guarantee itself

2) Provide a letter of credit – a letter of credit basically is a loan that your bank promises to give you at a future date. The catch is you don’t get to ask for it. The processing bank does, They can only invoke it if you owe them money and they are unable to get those funds from you. It is like an insurance policy.

3) A reserve – the processing bank will hold some of your funds in reserve to cover any exposure for loss they might have. 6 months or so after you close your account they give it all back to you. They may give it back sooner if you have processed for along time and shown to be a low risk merchant.

Keep in mind not all processors offer these alternative although most offer at least one of them.

How can i list an ebay auction without accept the payment of paypal ?

hi im trying to list sport cards on ebay.ca im trying to get it so i will just accept the form of payment (personal check) when i click the box to not have paypal it says (You must select PayPal or a merchant account as one of your payment options). help me please

Ebay has recently changed their policies and they no longer accept any forms of payment other than Paypal or Merchant Account. They used to allow sellers to accept money orders or personal checks but not anymore. Unfortunately there is no other way around it…you will not be able to list unless you have a Paypal or Merchant account. Setting up a paypal account is easy and safe, most people actually prefer Paypal over any other service. Hope this helps!
